History : The Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations was established in 2009 as part of the Yalova Üniversitesi, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and it started education in the 2010-2011 academic year with 100 students.
Qualification Awarded : The students who complete the program are given ph.d degrees in the field of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations.
Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) : Doctorate's
Specific Admission Requirements : To have an M.A. degree.
To have the adequate score from the ALES exam.
To have the adequate score from the YDS/YÖKDİL exams or one of the exams whose equivalency is accepted by YÖK.
To take the interview carried out by the department.
The minimum scores and their weights are determined within the framework of the Yalova Üniversitesi Graduate Guidelines and the conditions set out by the university senate.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : The undergraduate and M.A. degree courses that the student has passed can not be counted as one of the PhD courses and their ECTS can not be deducted from the required ECTS total.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : The GPA of the PhD student has to be at least 3.00. The student can not take the qualifying exam unless and until (s)he has that minimum GPA.
Profile of The Programme : The purpose of the PhD program is to teach the student to carry out independent research, scrutinize scientific events wholly and profoundly and interpret them and establish the steps to reach new syntheses.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : Apart from joining the academia at universities, a student who has finished the PhD program can be employed as a middle or senior level specialist or manager in the public or private sector.
Access to Further Studies : There is not a higher program than the PhD. PhD graduates are able to get academic titles if they become academics.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : The evaluation criteria for Ph.D students is established within the framework of the Yalova Üniversitesi Graduate Education Guidelines.
Graduation Requirements : The PhD program consists of passing the minimum of seven required and elective courses that correspond to at least 180 ECTS as mandated by the graduate school, passing the field research courses each semester, passing the qualifying exam, the thesis proposal and the thesis.
